Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

1. Strategic Planning

  • Develop and implement comprehensive sales and marketing strategies that align with the brand's vision and goals.
  • Analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Establish performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the effectiveness of sales and marketing initiatives.

2. Brand Management

  • Oversee the brand positioning and messaging to ensure consistency across all marketing channels and properties.
  • Collaborate with the creative team to develop marketing collateral, digital content, and promotional materials that reflect the Six Senses brand ethos.
  • Ensure that all marketing efforts enhance the brand's reputation for sustainability, wellness, and luxury.

3. Team Leadership

  • Lead and manage the sales and marketing teams, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to achieve departmental and organizational goals.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence within the teams.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.

4. Sales Management

  • Drive sales efforts across all properties, setting revenue targets and developing strategies to achieve them.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key clients, travel agents, and corporate partners to drive business development.
  • Oversee the development of sales presentations, proposals, and contracts to secure new business opportunities.

5. Digital Marketing and E-commerce

  • Develop and execute digital marketing strategies, including social media, email marketing, and online advertising, to enhance online presence and engagement.
  • Optimize the brand’s website and online booking platforms for user experience and conversion.
  • Monitor and analyze online performance metrics to refine marketing strategies and campaigns.

6. Market Research and Analysis

  • Conduct regular market research to identify customer preferences, emerging trends, and competitive landscape changes.
  • Use data analytics to assess the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and make data-driven decisions.

7. Collaboration with Operations

  • Work closely with operations teams to ensure that marketing initiatives are aligned with guest experiences and service delivery.
  • Coordinate with property managers and teams to ensure that local marketing efforts are effectively executed and supported.

8. Public Relations and Partnerships

  • Develop and maintain relationships with media, influencers, and industry partners to enhance brand visibility and credibility.
  • Oversee public relations efforts, including press releases, events, and media outreach, to promote the brand and its offerings.

9. Budget Management

  • Prepare and manage the sales and marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to maximize ROI.
  • Monitor spending and adjust strategies as necessary to meet financial targets.

10. Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility

  • Promote the brand’s commitment to sustainability and wellness initiatives in all marketing efforts.
  • Engage in corporate social responsibility activities that align with the brand's values and enhance community relationships.

Desired candidate profile

1. Educational Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, hospitality management, or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
  • Relevant certifications in marketing or hospitality management can be advantageous.

2. Experience

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in sales and marketing within the hospitality industry, with a strong background in luxury or wellness-focused brands.
  • Proven track record of successful leadership in a senior sales and marketing role, ideally as a Director or Head of Sales and Marketing in a similar environment.
  • Experience managing multiple properties or a portfolio of brands is highly desirable.

3. Strategic and Analytical Skills

  • Strong strategic thinking skills with the ability to develop and implement effective sales and marketing strategies that align with brand objectives.
  • Proficient in market analysis, using data to inform decisions and adjust strategies for optimal performance.

4. Leadership and Team Management

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing sales and marketing teams.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships, foster teamwork, and encourage collaboration across departments.

5. Brand Management Expertise

  • In-depth understanding of luxury brand positioning and the ability to maintain brand integrity across all marketing initiatives.
  • Experience in developing and executing brand strategies that enhance visibility and market share.

6. Digital Marketing Proficiency

  • Extensive knowledge of digital marketing strategies, including social media, SEO, content marketing, and e-commerce.
  • Familiarity with the latest digital tools and platforms to enhance online engagement and customer conversion.

7. Strong Communication Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying the brand's values and messaging effectively to various stakeholders.
  • Ability to represent the brand in public relations efforts and media interactions.

8. Customer-Centric Focus

  • Passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences and a deep understanding of customer preferences in the luxury and wellness markets.
  • Commitment to understanding and addressing the unique needs of diverse clientele.

9. Budgeting and Financial Acumen

  • Proven experience in managing budgets and maximizing return on investment for sales and marketing activities.
  • Ability to analyze financial reports and metrics to drive decision-making.
