- The Supplier Quality Incharge is responsible for overseeing the quality management of materials and components supplied by external vendors.
- This role ensures that suppliers consistently meet company standards regulations and customer expectations and it includes responsibilities in vendor qualification performance monitoring and continuous quality improvement.
- The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality control and assurance exceptional analytical skills and experience in supply chain management.
Requirements
Supplier Evaluation & Selection
- Conduct initial assessments and audits for new suppliers to ensure they meet the companys quality standards.
- Collaborate with procurement and engineering teams to define supplier requirements and select approved suppliers.
Supplier Performance Monitoring
- Track and analyze supplier performance metrics including defect rates delivery timelines and compliance with specifications.
- Develop and implement scorecards or dashboards to monitor supplier quality and drive continuous improvement.
- Regularly review and report on supplier quality performance to senior management.
Quality Control & Assurance
- Establish and enforce quality standards for incoming materials and components.
- Coordinate and perform regular audits of supplier production processes and quality management systems.
- Work closely with suppliers to resolve quality issues and develop corrective action plans.
NonConformance Management
- Investigate and analyze nonconforming materials or components working with suppliers to identify root causes.
- Initiate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) with suppliers and ensure timely implementation of solutions.
- Maintain records of nonconformances and track trends to proactively prevent recurring issues.
Continuous Improvement Initiatives
- Drive continuous improvement in supplier quality processes by applying lean methodologies and best practices.
- Facilitate training sessions for suppliers to align them with company quality standards and expectations.
- Participate in crossfunctional teams to improve processes and efficiency within the supply chain.
Documentation & Compliance
- Ensure all supplier quality documents are maintained updated and comply with relevant standards such as ISO Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing.
- Develop and maintain quality inspection procedures and checklists for incoming materials.
Collaboration & Communication
- Act as the primary liaison between suppliers and internal teams maintaining open and effective communication.
- Coordinate with R&D engineering and production teams to ensure seamless integration of supplier quality standards into product development.
