Job Description

Position Overview: We are recruiting on behalf of a major construction company for a Regional Safety Manager to oversee safety operations in Buffalo NY and the surrounding region. This role is responsible for promoting a positive safety culture ensuring compliance with safety regulations managing incident metrics and overseeing workers compensation cases. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership regulatory knowledge and a proactive approach to fostering a safe work environment.
Work Schedule: 8hour day shift Monday to Friday (overtime may be required during shutdowns)
Key Responsibilities:
Safety Leadership: Promote a positive safety culture actively encouraging safe behaviors and proactive safety measures.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory bodies (e.g. DOT MSHA) and communicate updates to employees leadership and direct reports.
Incident Management: Review and update written programs conduct audits and accident investigations track incident metrics and manage workers compensation cases confidentially.
Collaboration & Communication: Work with business partners regulatory agencies and employees on safety requirements and identify opportunities for improvement.
Team Development: Oversee the development and performance management of direct reports providing training and support as needed.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor s degree in Safety or a related field or equivalent experience.
Experience:
- 7 years of experience in safety management.
- At least 3 years of direct supervisory experience.
- Background in the construction or manufacturing industry.
- 7 years of experience in safety management.
Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong regulatory knowledge including DOT MSHA and federal regulations.
- Proficiency in training inspection and auditing.
- Ability to work overtime as needed especially during shutdowns.
