The Community Engagement Manager will be a part of the product team to implement partnerbased programs under the AMI Impact unit. You will be a key player in a dynamic country team focused obsessively on results.

The Community Engagement Manager must be a driven organized and detailoriented leader with strong people skills as well as expertise in client and stakeholder relationship management. They should also possess the ability to implement grassroots complex programs effectively.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Community Engagement Manager to implement an accesstofinance project aimed at supporting entrepreneurs and MSMEs (Micro Small and Medium Enterprises) in Rwanda. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in building and maintaining robust relationships with regional government officials including district and sectorlevel authorities. Additionally they will lead a team of Growth Guides with expertise in financial services entrepreneurship support particularly in village savings and lending associations (VSLAs) SACCOs and Microfinance Institutions.
Key Responsibilities:
District Relations and Stakeholder Engagement
Build and maintain strong relationships with regional District officials including district and sectorlevel authorities.
Serve as the primary point of contact between the project and District stakeholders ensuring alignment with local government policies and priorities.
Actively participate in regional and District forums to advocate for the project s objectives and promote MSME development mostly for the youth and women.
Monitor and ensure the project complies with government regulations and any required reporting or permits are secured in a timely manner.
Project Execution and Team Management of Growth guides:
Lead a team of Growth Guides (GGs) to ensure effective delivery of business support services to MSMEs.
Provide guidance and support to Growth Guides in achieving their targets and improving their performance.
Conduct regular performance reviews and refresher training sessions for the team to strengthen their skills in business advisory and community engagement.
Encourage a collaborative team culture that emphasizes accountability innovation and problemsolving at the grassroots level.
Oversee the execution of project activities in the region ensuring alignment with the overall project goals and timelines.
Coordinate closely with communitybased organizations and other partners to facilitate the delivery of services to MSMEs.
Ensure effective grassroots mobilization and engagement strategies with the support of the Growth Guide Coordinators to involve MSMEs and local stakeholders in the project.
Regularly monitor project progress and resolve challenges that arise during implementation to ensure successful delivery of the project s activities.
Required Skills and Experience:
Demonstrated experience in leading and managing teams particularly at the grassroots or regional level.
Strong understanding of Rwanda s MSME landscape and experience working with government institutions particularly at the district and sector level.
Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with the ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Handson project management experience with a track record of getting things done on the ground.
Fluency in Kinyarwanda and English is required; knowledge of French is an advantage.
Extensive experience in microfinance or other financial institutions particularly in MSME lending.
Familiarity with village savings and lending associations (VSLAs) and their operation within Rwanda.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Strong market analysis skills and understanding of local economic conditions.
Education & Experience
Bachelor s degree in Business Administration Development Studies Public Administration or a related field. A Master s degree is an advantage.
At least 57 years of experience in managing government relations business development or economic development projects in Rwanda.
Proven program management skills and experience especially with grantfunded programs (essential).
Experience in entrepreneurial or highgrowth environments (essential).
Facilitation experience (preferred).
