Job Description

Drama Teacher Supportive SEN School Thurrock

A wellestablished SEN school in Thurrock is searching for a dedicated Drama Teacher to join their team. This fulltime permanent position provides a unique opportunity to use drama as a tool for nurturing confidence social skills and selfexpression among students with additional needs. The role is perfect for an individual passionate about helping students grow emotionally and socially through creative handson learning experiences.

Role Highlights

  • Fulltime permanent Drama Teacher role within a supportive SEN school that values creative approaches to education particularly dramas role in developing communication and interpersonal skills
  • Plan and deliver interactive drama lessons designed to promote selfconfidence teamwork and verbal and nonverbal communication tailored to the diverse needs of SEN students
  • Collaborate closely with a dedicated SEN team to integrate drama into the curriculum using a multidisciplinary approach that supports each students unique learning journey and fosters a safe and inclusive environment
  • Actively participate in school events performances and drama workshops providing students with platforms to showcase their talents and celebrate their progress in a positive setting

Experience and Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a background in teaching Drama to SEN students and experience in adapting lesson content to cater to varied learning needs
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm for creative teaching methods with a deep commitment to helping students develop core life skills through drama
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage SEN students and collaborate effectively with colleagues parents and caregivers
  • Clear enhanced DBS check required to maintain a secure learning environment
