POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a motivated Associate Attorney with a background in insurance defense to join our Tampa office. The ideal candidate will have 25 years of experience in insurance defense with medical malpractice defense experience as a significant advantage. This role requires a proactive attorney capable of managing complex cases providing thorough legal analysis and delivering strong advocacy in court.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Represent clients in insurance defense cases including handling all phases of litigation from inception through resolution.
  • Conduct legal research draft pleadings motions and other legal documents.
  • Participate in court appearances depositions mediations and arbitration hearings as necessary.
  • Communicate effectively with clients colleagues and opposing counsel to provide case updates and explore case strategy.
  • Evaluate medical records expert reports and insurance policies to build robust defense strategies.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and partners on complex cases contributing to team discussions on legal strategy and case management.
  • Maintain compliance with all legal standards and industry regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in Florida.
  • 25 years of experience in insurance defense.
  • Medical malpractice defense experience is highly preferred.
  • Strong research writing and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently as well as within a team.
