Job Description
Sierra ITS has partnered with a Wheaton IL based public safety communications center to identify and hire a Technician I whose mission is to assist in the installation maintenance troubleshooting and repair of systems including twoway radio telephone microwave network transport control power alarm and others. Youll provide handson support on all systems at the communication center and radio sites throughout DuPage County. Youll determine the extent of problems and address them inhouse or escalate to a vendor.
Schedule: Monday Friday 08:00 AM 4:30 PM and required oncall (after training) one week every 34 weeks and be flexible to occasionally accommodate the needs of a 24/7 organization and its employees.
Desired Skills/Experience:
- 3 5 years of experience in radio/microwave/telephone technical position
- Twoway radio communication including antennas microwave and multiplex systems.
- Solidstate electronics the operational design of circuits and electronic testing equipment.
- FCC General Class Radio Telephone License (GROL)
- Amateur Radio Extra class license
- Previous experience in a public safety environment
Compensation: This is a full time permanent position with salary (90k) great benefits and a PENSION.
Important: You must reside within a 30 mile radius of Wheaton IL. No third parties local candidates only.
