Speech and Language Therapy Assistant Primary School SouthendonSea
Join a nurturing and supportive primary school in SouthendonSea as a Speech and Language Therapy Assistant. In this vital role you will assist students in developing essential communication skills and boosting their confidence in a collaborative educational setting. Role Highlights
- Fulltime position within a dedicated SEN team focused on fostering communication and language development among young learners
- Collaborate closely with qualified speech and language therapists to implement tailored interventions and support strategies for students with varying communication needs
- Assist in the delivery of individual and group therapy sessions creating engaging and interactive activities that promote language acquisition and expression
- Foster a positive and encouraging environment where students feel safe to practice their communication skills and build selfesteem
- Engage in regular training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills in speech and language support and stay updated on best practices in the field
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss student progress share insights and adapt support strategies as needed
Experience & Qualifications
- A background in speech and language therapy SEN support or a related field is preferred although candidates with a strong interest in language development will also be considered
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with students parents and staff in a compassionate and effective manner
- Strong organizational skills capable of managing multiple tasks and adapting to the diverse needs of students
- A current and clear Enhanced DBS check is essential to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all students
