SEN Learning Mentor Secondary School Basildon
A progressive and inclusive secondary school in Basildon is seeking an enthusiastic SEN Learning Mentor to join its dynamic team. This fulltime position is dedicated to supporting secondary students who face learning challenges helping them achieve their academic goals and reach their full potential. As an SEN Learning Mentor you will play a vital role in providing individualized support and fostering a positive learning environment for students with diverse needs.
Role Highlights
- Permanent fulltime role in a vibrant secondary school committed to promoting inclusive education and student wellbeing
- Work closely with teachers and support staff to deliver tailored learning strategies that address the unique needs of students with SEN
- Provide targeted oneonone and small group support offering encouragement and motivation to help students overcome barriers to learning
- Foster a supportive and engaging classroom atmosphere that encourages participation and boosts selfconfidence among students
- Participate in ongoing professional development gaining valuable skills and knowledge in SEN practices and student support
- Collaborate with parents teachers and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach to each students development and wellbeing
Experience & Qualifications
- Background in education mentoring or a related field with a preference for candidates who have experience working with students with special educational needs
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusting relationships with students staff and parents
- Strong organizational skills capable of managing multiple tasks and adapting to the varying needs of students
- A current and clear Enhanced DBS check is essential to ensure the safety and security of all students
