Job Description

We pioneered the Organic SolidFlow battery

CMBlu started in 2011 as a researchdriven project with the goal of storing electrical energy in arbitrarily large quantities in an environmentally friendly sustainable and costeffective way. Since then we have continuously expanded our broad IP portfolio and expertise in largescale energy storage.

Today we are one of the leading organic flow battery companies headquartered in Alzenau 30 km from Frankfurt Airport. With our groundbreaking technology we will drive the energy transition together with our partners customers and most importantly: with our employees!

We are a highly motivated committed and fast growing team of over 180 employees. We are now preparing for the market launch of our products and further professionalizing our organization.

Tasks

As a Stack Developer (m/f/d) at CMBlu you will be involved in the development and optimisation of our innovative energy storage technologies. You will work closely with other specialist departments to continuously improve the performance and efficiency of our stacks.
You can expect exciting and responsible tasks with room for manoeuvre:

  • Development of battery stacks that fulfil the defined product requirements in terms of performance durability and cost efficiency.
  • Close collaboration with the teams for stacks electrodes membranes and module hydraulics to optimise stack performance.
  • Coordinate stack related projects to meet cost and schedule targets.
  • Monitoring stack performance and analysing deviations from defined performance metrics.
  • Identification of parameters to be optimised.
  • Optimisation of stack frames and hydraulics within the stack.
  • Improving the production processes for stack frames and the entire stack production.
  • Development of methods to ensure the quality and durability of the stacks.
  • Interface with lab operations teams to ensure seamless collaboration.
  • Ensure adherence to project timelines and quality of deliverables.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of the stack development process.
  • Producing regular reports on progress and findings to inform stakeholders.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of professional experience in a related field e.g. batteries electrolyzers or fuel cells.
  • Extensive experience in battery technology preferably with a focus on flow batteries or stack development.
  • Sound understanding of fluid dynamics or electrochemistry.
  • Additional experience with plastics polymers or catalysts is an advantage.
  • Excellent problemsolving skills and strategic thinking.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work cooperatively in a diverse team environment.
  • Excellent written and spoken German and English.
  • Confident with common office applications.
