Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

1. Regulatory Compliance Management

  • Ensure the organization complies with Saudi government regulations, industry standards, and any legal requirements.
  • Stay updated on changes in laws, regulations, and governmental procedures and communicate these updates to relevant departments.
  • Work closely with legal and compliance teams to ensure all business operations align with regulatory requirements.

2. Permit and Licensing Management

  • Facilitate the processing, renewal, and cancellation of government permits, licenses, and approvals necessary for business operations.
  • Coordinate with governmental authorities on applications for permits or licenses, ensuring that all required documentation is prepared accurately and submitted on time.

3. Government Liaison

  • Act as the main point of contact between the organization and various government agencies, fostering positive relationships to aid business operations.
  • Represent the organization at meetings, seminars, and events held by government entities.
  • Manage and resolve any issues or concerns raised by government bodies, ensuring a proactive approach to maintaining good relations.

4. Strategic Partnership Development

  • Identify and build relationships with key government stakeholders, enhancing the organization’s network and influence in the industry.
  • Facilitate strategic partnerships that align with the organization’s objectives and support future growth.

5. Policy and Process Development

  • Assist in developing internal policies and procedures to ensure compliance with government regulations.
  • Collaborate with various departments to streamline processes related to government documentation, reporting, and renewals.

6. Documentation and Reporting

  • Oversee the preparation and submission of all required documentation, including compliance reports, permits, and certifications.
  • Maintain accurate records of interactions with government agencies, and track all correspondence for audit and compliance purposes.

7. Issue Resolution

  • Address and resolve any government-related challenges or delays that may affect business operations.
  • Work closely with relevant departments to troubleshoot issues, resolve disputes, and manage crises with governmental bodies when necessary.

8. Monitoring Regulatory Trends

  • Track regulatory developments and legislative trends that could impact the organization.
  • Provide insights and advice to management on potential risks or opportunities associated with regulatory changes.

9. Employee Visas and Work Permits Management

  • Manage visa, work permit, and residency processes for expatriate employees, ensuring compliance with Saudi labor laws.
  • Coordinate with HR to ensure the timely processing of employee visas, iqamas, and related documentation.

10. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)

  • Support CSR initiatives by aligning them with government objectives, promoting a positive image for the organization within the local community.
  • Collaborate with government and local entities on community projects and social initiatives.

Desired candidate profile

1. Educational Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Political Science, Public Relations, Law, or a related field.
  • Advanced certifications or additional coursework in regulatory compliance, public policy, or government relations are an advantage.

2. Experience

  • 5-7 years of experience in government relations, regulatory affairs, or a related field within the Saudi market.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing interactions with government bodies, regulatory agencies, and other key stakeholders.

3. Key Skills

  • Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of Saudi Arabian laws, regulations, and government processes affecting the industry.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills in Arabic and English, with the ability to present information clearly and negotiate effectively.
  • Interpersonal and Networking Skills: Skilled at building and maintaining relationships with government officials, regulators, and other influential figures.
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Capable of addressing and resolving regulatory and compliance issues proactively, with a strategic approach.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with digital tools for regulatory tracking, document management, and government application portals.
