Job Description
- Supervise and support a team of CDL drivers in loading and unloading materials and equipment at various job sites.
- Ensure safe operation of dump trucks and rolloff trucks for transporting materials such as dirt debris and construction waste.
- Conduct pretrip and posttrip inspections of vehicles ensuring they are in safe operating condition.
- Secure loads to prevent shifting or spillage during transport.
- Communicate effectively with field supervisors and other team members to coordinate deliveries and address any issues.
- Maintain accurate records of materials transported delivery times and mileage.
- Enforce adherence to all safety protocols and regulations including DOT requirements.
- Promote a professional appearance among drivers ensuring compliance with proper attire and wearing personal protective equipment PPE) such as safety vests and glasses when appropriate long pants hard sole/closetoed work boots and presenting a clean and professional appearance.
- Provide excellent customer service during interactions with clients and site personnel.
- Oversee routine maintenance checks and coordinate with the Maintenance Manager for any issues.
Requirements
- Valid CDL (Class A or B) with a clean driving record.
- Valid DOT Medical card
- Minimum of 3 years of experience operating dump trucks and rolloff trucks with prior supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and local transportation laws.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills with a strong commitment to safety.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Must be able to climb in and out of trucks multiple times per day.
- Ability to sit for extended periods while driving.
- Must be able to work in various weather conditions including heat cold and rain.
- Good handeye coordination and physical dexterity.
