Job Description

Job Summary:

The Retail Manager will be responsible for overseeing the operations of retail locations ensuring that sales targets are met and that stores align with company policies and objectives. This role involves managing staff enhancing customer service strategies and driving sales performance to foster a positive shopping experience. The Retail Manager will play a crucial role in developing effective sales initiatives and ensuring high levels of operational efficiency in the retail environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Sales Management:

  • Develop and implement strategies to meet and exceed sales targets.
  • Analyze sales data to identify trends opportunities and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to create promotional campaigns that drive foot traffic and sales.

2. Staff Management:

  • Recruit train and develop retail staff ensuring high levels of motivation and performance.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
  • Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork and employee engagement.

3. Customer Service:

  • Implement customer service policies and ensure compliance across all retail locations.
  • Address customer complaints and feedback promptly to enhance satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Develop strategies to improve the overall customer experience instore.

4. Operational Oversight:

  • Ensure retail locations are wellstocked organized and visually appealing to customers.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with supply chain management to ensure timely replenishment.
  • Enforce company policies and procedures to maintain operational standards.

5. Financial Management:

  • Assist in the preparation of the retail budget and monitor expenditures to ensure costeffectiveness.
  • Analyze financial reports to assess profitability and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Identify costsaving opportunities while maintaining quality service.

6. Compliance and Governance:

  • Ensure compliance with health safety and legal regulations in all retail operations.
  • Implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and maintain operational integrity.

7. Team Leadership:

  • Lead and inspire retail teams to achieve sales and operational goals.
  • Promote a culture of accountability excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Mentor and support team members in their professional development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor s degree in Business Administration Retail Management or a related field (Master s degree preferred).
  • Proven experience (minimum 5 years) in retail management preferably in the automotive or consumer goods industry.
  • Strong understanding of sales principles customer service and retail operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and lead a diverse team effectively.
  • Excellent leadership communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in retail management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of the Nigerian retail environment is an advantage.
