The primary responsibility of this position is to shunt trucks on the premises.
Skills :
- Responsible to off hook trucks shunt and trucks on and offsite to ensure loading schedule per truck is completed
- Assist with the truck inspections and report deviations to the Dispatch Supervisor
- Assist with Hygiene Cleaning of loading areas
- Ensure to cover loads after trucks are loaded and to assist with strapping of loads and equipment
- Ensure all truck equipment is correct for the required load before final parking
- Must be prepared to stand in for other shunters in off time
- Assist with Bulk Oil loading and offloading
- Ensure loads are weighed out correctly according to the load sheet and that trucks comply with the Road Safety Act
- Assist with loads to clients when necessary
- Assist with any reasonable task as required by the Dispatch Supervisor
- Assist with bulk loading and wash bay
- Ensure compliance with the Safety Standards by following the Southern Oil Safety Policy
Health and Safety
- Participate in safety forums and attend relevant training/programmes
- Report all safety incidents to the relevant people
- Comply with safety policies and procedures
- Wear protective clothing (where applicable) at all times
