Our culture is built on collaboration fast execution and bold actions always caring about the customer first. Now we are looking for experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our Data Team.
- The current setup hosted on AWS executes various functions such as data extraction (dlt and Airbyte) data transformation (PostgreSQL and dbt) managed workflows (Airflow) and dashboarding (Metabase). The data landscape consists of Cloud components such as RDS S3 buckets ec2 instances and ECS (Elastic Container Service) in order to store and process data. Provisioning configuration and optimization of structural bottlenecks on these systems are among your core responsibilities. In detolo we leverage Terraform for auto component provisioning against hazards and redundant billing.
Your role in a team:
- You will take over responsibility for setting up a modern data infrastructure and migrating step by step from our current infrastructure to the new one.
- You are experienced with Terraform.
- You have excellent Python skills and are able to build endtoend reliable data ingestion pipelines. Those pipelines to be built will support our Analytics Engineer / Data Analyst by providing them with the data they need. You evangelize CI/CD within the data team and rigorously implement on the deployments to detect bugs earlier.
- You are a great team player. You will mentor other data engineers to gear up their games. You use your passion for data to foster our dentolo data culture.
- You work together with our Engineering team to adapt infrastructure best practices and rigorously optimize the current data landscape. Also from the demand side teams like Product Marketing Sales Operations might raise requests for the integration of domain related data sources.
- You use your knowledge and ideas to contribute to our overall data strategy especially with focus on our future data setup. The current data curator functionality of Data team and selfservice enabled departments like Product Marketing the setup resembles the datamesh structure in detolo. Your prior handson experience in mesh environment is a bonus.
What you need to be successful:
- Familiarize yourself with our data landscape understand how the processes work and challenge them based on your expertise and bring your unique and fresh perspective.
- Get to know the team and the relevant stakeholders and gain understanding for their roles and requirements towards our data.
- Set up a concrete plan for setting up the infrastructure that we are eager to work with in the future as well as a plan for the step by step migration.
- Go the first steps by setting up the fundament of the new infrastructure in AWS.
- Share your knowledge with the current team members and educate them in the usage of new tools.
