Roles and responsibilities
1. Technical Assistance and Support
- Assist senior engineers in planning, designing, and executing engineering projects.
- Perform technical tasks, such as data analysis, calculations, or drafting, to support the development and completion of projects.
- Troubleshoot technical issues, providing recommendations and solutions to overcome obstacles in project execution.
2. Project Management Assistance
- Support project planning by coordinating resources, scheduling tasks, and preparing timelines for project phases.
- Assist in monitoring project progress, ensuring milestones are met, and updating relevant stakeholders on project status.
- Help maintain project documentation, including reports, technical specifications, drawings, and schedules.
3. Quality Assurance and Control
- Perform inspections and quality checks on project components, ensuring they meet design specifications and industry standards.
- Assist in the development and enforcement of quality control procedures to minimize errors and ensure consistent results.
- Document any defects or deviations from standards and work with senior engineers to develop corrective actions.
4. Supervision and Mentorship
- Oversee and mentor junior staff, providing guidance on technical procedures, safety standards, and engineering best practices.
- Conduct training for junior team members on tools, equipment, or technical skills needed for project tasks.
- Delegate tasks to junior staff and ensure they are completed accurately and on time.
5. Field Work and Site Supervision
- Conduct site visits and field inspections to assess project progress, equipment setup, and safety compliance.
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders on-site, ensuring that project specifications are followed.
- Troubleshoot on-site issues, providing hands-on support and guidance to resolve technical challenges.
6. Design and Development Support
- Assist in drafting design plans, technical drawings, or schematics under the guidance of lead engineers.
- Perform preliminary testing and simulations of design concepts to ensure they meet functional requirements.

7. Safety Compliance and Risk Management
- Ensure that safety protocols are adhered to on all project sites and during engineering tasks.
- Assist in identifying potential risks, documenting safety concerns, and implementing preventive measures.
- Collaborate with the safety team to conduct safety training and risk assessments for team members and site personnel.
8. Budget and Resource Management
- Support budget management by tracking expenditures, material usage, and resource allocation.
- Assist in resource forecasting and procurement of materials or equipment needed for engineering tasks.
- Monitor project expenses and report any discrepancies to project management to prevent budget overruns.
Desired candidate profile
1. Educational Background
- Degree in Engineering: A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or a related engineering field is required.
- Certifications: Additional certifications in project management (such as PMP), AutoCAD, or other relevant technical courses are an advantage.
2. Experience
- Professional Experience: 3-5 years in an engineering support role, preferably with hands-on experience in project coordination or technical troubleshooting.
- Industry-Specific Experience: Experience in the industry relevant to the organization (e.g., manufacturing, construction, utilities) is preferred.
3. Technical Skills
- Engineering Knowledge: Solid understanding of engineering principles and technical processes related to design, troubleshooting, and project support.
- Proficiency in CAD Software: Skilled in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.) and familiar with project management tools (e.g., MS Project).
