Key Responsibilities
You will play a vital role in the integration and deployment of 4G and 5G core systems within cloud-native environments, focusing on technologies such as OpenStack, Aerospike (NoSQL), and containerized network functions (CNF/VNF). Your work will encompass the operational and configuration aspects of critical systems, including Online Charging Systems (OCS), Policy and Charging Rules Function (PCRF), and Diameter Routing Agent (DRA), while also managing associated call flows.
In this role, you will be tasked with troubleshooting and analyzing core network issues, particularly those involving key 5G components like Session Management Function (SMF), Policy Control Function (PCF), Network Repository Function (NRF), and Charging Function (CHF), as well as the Evolved Packet Core (EPC) for 4G. Your expertise in cloud-native tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenStack will be essential for managing container platforms used for network function virtualization.
Additionally, you will employ monitoring solutions like Prometheus, Grafana, and Kibana to conduct performance analysis and diagnostics in cloud environments. Collaboration with cross-functional teams will be critical to ensure the seamless integration of core network elements with cloud platforms, including AWS and OpenStack. You will also ensure the effective deployment of 4G and 5G core solutions, leveraging your strong understanding of Diameter and HTTP/2 protocols.
Your role will require you to maintain a deep technical understanding of 5G and 4G EPC fundamentals, alongside related communication technologies. You will provide valuable input for enhancing system reliability, scalability, and performance during live deployments.
Required Skills
To excel in this position, you should possess proficiency in Linux and cloud platforms, particularly OpenStack and AWS. Experience with Aerospike or similar NoSQL databases is essential for cloud deployments. Expertise in containerization using Docker and Kubernetes in cloud-native environments is also required.
You should have a solid grasp of network protocols, particularly Diameter and HTTP/2, as they pertain to 4G and 5G core network communications. Extensive experience with 5G core elements such as SMF, PCF, NRF, and CHF, as well as the 4G EPC, is crucial.
In-depth knowledge of OCS, PCRF, and DRA systems, along with their respective call flows, is expected. You should have hands-on experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and Kibana to troubleshoot and analyze system performance effectively.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential for addressing complex network issues. Experience in cloud platforms and virtualized environments (VNF/CNF) is also important. A solid understanding of 5G and 4G EPC fundamentals, including architecture and data call flow, will be beneficial.
