Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will engage in the integration and deployment of 5G and 4G Core systems within cloud-native environments, emphasizing the use of OpenStack, Aerospike (NoSQL), and containerized network functions (CNF/VNF). Your primary focus will be on operational and configuration aspects of critical systems like the Online Charging System (OCS), Policy and Charging Rules Function (PCRF), and Diameter Routing Agent (DRA), along with managing their associated call flows.

You will be responsible for troubleshooting, analyzing, and solving complex issues related to the 4G/5G core network, specifically involving key components such as the Session Management Function (SMF), Policy Control Function (PCF), Network Repository Function (NRF), and Charging Function (CHF) for 5G, as well as the Evolved Packet Core (EPC) for 4G. Your expertise will be pivotal in utilizing cloud-native tools, including Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenStack, to effectively manage container platforms for network function virtualization.

Monitoring and performance analysis will also be a significant part of your responsibilities. You will employ tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and Kibana to diagnose system performance issues within cloud environments. Collaboration with cross-functional teams will be essential to ensure the seamless integration of core network elements with various cloud platforms, such as AWS and OpenStack.

A key aspect of your role will be to guarantee the effective deployment and integration of 4G and 5G core solutions, leveraging your strong understanding of Diameter and HTTP/2 protocols. You will be expected to maintain a deep technical knowledge of 5G and 4G EPC fundamentals and associated communication technologies, contributing valuable insights for enhancing system reliability, scalability, and performance in live deployments.

Required Skills

To succeed in this position, you must demonstrate proficiency in several technical areas. A strong command of Linux and cloud platforms, particularly OpenStack and AWS, is essential. Experience with Aerospike or similar NoSQL databases in cloud deployments is also required.

Expertise in containerization technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes, is crucial for managing cloud-native environments. You should possess a solid understanding of network protocols, specifically Diameter and HTTP/2, which are vital for 4G and 5G core network communication.

Additionally, extensive experience with core 5G elements such as SMF, PCF, NRF, and CHF, along with knowledge of 4G EPC architecture, is necessary. Familiarity with OCS, PCRF, and DRA systems and their call flows in both 4G and 5G contexts is important as well.
