Note: Salary range: $31$35 35 hours MondayFriday Weekend rotation 119 bed SNF. 4 hall nursing home with 1 hall dedicated to short term stays. It is a privately owned facility. The owner is the administrator. A large number of the administrative staff and hall staff have been with the owner for over 20 years. Owner very pro rehab and we have an excellent rapport with them. Therapy has a strong relationship with all departments. Facility recently remodeled and redecorated as well as the rehab gym. We have a very large outdoor area with a patio. Therapy has full autonomy of the outdoor area. The population is primarily geriatric but we are seeing more middleaged residents. Currently there are 3 fulltime therapists on staff all of which have greater than 25 years experience.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Occupational Therapy Assistant will primarily provide outpatient rehabilitation services in an inhome setting for the older adult population. The inhome setting could be a patients private residence or in a patients room in an independent living facility. It allows the Occupational Therapy Assistant to treat them in the most functional environment which is the patients home. The Occupational Therapy Assistant implements occupational therapy programs and provides occupational therapy treatments to patients to facilitate increased independence and functioning under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist. This position provides a flexible schedule and work environment in various settings.
RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Attends and contributes to patient care staffing conferences and other required meetings as representative of occupational therapy under the direction of the Occupational Therapist.
2. Responsible for adherence to department and patient treatment schedule timely clinical and billing documentation requirements as well as workrelated meetings.
3. Works with other members of the rehabilitation team to develop programs and activities consistent with the needs and capabilities of each patient.
4. Instructs patients families and other caregivers in the skills and techniques of the occupational therapy treatment program under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist.
5. Maintains appropriate and timely documentation for all patients treated.
6. Cleans maintains identifies and reports the need for repair of equipment as necessary.
7. Puts Patient Service First: Ensures that patients and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals needs and rights.
8. Implements a patients individualized treatment plan as established by the primary Occupational Therapist.
9. Provides individualized occupational therapy interventions including application of therapeutic techniques in such areas as but not limited to.
10. Performs other related duties as required.
SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL/VOCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Must have a valid license in the state(s) of practice or proof of license eligibility.
2. Must have a valid drivers license or reliable independent transportation to and from the patients residence.

COMPLIANCE:
1. Complies with applicable legal requirements standards policies and procedures including but not limited to those within the Compliance and Ethics Program Standard/Code of Conduct Federal False Claims Act and HIPAA.
2. Participates in required orientation and training programs
3. Promptly reports concerns and suspected incidences of noncompliance to supervisor Compliance Liaison or to the Compliance Officer via the Integrity Hotline.
4. Cooperates with monitoring and audit functions and investigations.
5. Participates as requested in quality assurance and process improvement activities.
