Minimum Years of Experience: 7 Years
Primary Skills/Experience:
- Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting routing and switching protocols including:
- Spine & Leaf
- VxLAN EVPN MPLS LDP BGP ISIS OSPF L2 VPN and L3VPN
- Experience in networking operations with a strong emphasis on network automation and DevOps practices
- Handson experience with network automation tools (e.g. Ansible) CI/CD pipelines and scripting languages (Python Bash etc.)
Application of Primary Skills/Experience:
- Routing Protocols: Explain the difference between OSPF and BGP routing protocols including their use cases and key characteristics.
- Troubleshooting: Describe the process of troubleshooting a network issue where a specific host cannot reach the internet including the steps and tools you would use.
- VLANs: Explain what VLANs are and how they improve network performance and security.
- Network Segmentation: Describe the concept of network segmentation and its benefits in a corporate network environment.
- EVPN Implementation: Understand the differences in implementing EVPN (MPLS or VxLAN).
- MPLS Signaling: Knowledge of MPLS signaling and implementation (LDP vs RSVP vs SR).
- Automation CI/CD Pipeline: Describe the process of setting up a CI/CD pipeline using Jenkins including the steps for integrating automated testing and deployment.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Explain the concept of IaC and discuss its benefits in a DevOps environment.
- Network Automation (Python/Ansible): Describe the role of Python/Ansible in automating network configurations including a common use case.
Secondary Skills/Experience:
- Experience with firewall rules IPSEC Tunnel and SitetoSite VPN configurations
- Familiarity with multivendor environments (Cisco Juniper Arista) ensuring interoperability and optimal performance
