JOB SUMMARY
Under the general supervision of the OrthoNeuro Program Coordinator the Joint Program Data Abstractor plays a
crucial role in extracting reviewing and analyzing medical records to ensure accurate data collection for quality
improvement regulatory compliance and performance measurement initiatives. This position requires a deep
understanding of healthcare terminology clinical workflows and measure specifications to identify relevant data
elements from patient records. The Data Abstractor collaborates with healthcare teams to ensure that data
submissions meet both internal and external standards contributing to organizational goals for patient care
improvement and regulatory reporting. The Data Abstractor will perform detailed reviews and abstraction of
patient records extracting complex data elements according to established measure specifications and project
guidelines. They will ensure confidentiality and security of patient information in compliance with HIPAA and
organizational policies.

Essential Functions
1.
Lead the collection validation and clinical quality review of patientlevel data in alignment with
measure specifications and project requirements.
Demonstrates expertise in the data elements definitions and specifications for designated registries.
Conducts in depth medical record reviews and abstracts a high volume of complex clinical case records
to support quality improvement initiatives and regulatory reporting requirements
Ensures the integrity and accuracy of information collected and entered into the data collection system.
Completes all data input error report analysis and correction resolution of errors related to data entry
and submission of data to regulatory bodies.
Prepare present and interpret clinical quality data reports with clinical and leadership teams on quality
improvement projects.
Assesses potential problems affecting the data collection process and coordinates followup of problem
resolution with the team and/or manager.
Maintains clinical quality measurement specification knowledge through selfdevelopment. Keeps
current on all specification updates and changes communicating any measure requirement changes to
key stakeholders.
Essential Functions
