Job Description

Adelphi is seeking Bilingual Counselors to Provide professional counseling services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in San Antonio Texas. The ideal candidates should have strong communication skills and cultural competency to support diverse populations and must Must fluently speak both Spanish and English.

Requirements:

Must be licensed a professional counselor and able to practice in Texas.

Preferably 2 years experience providing services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Must fluently speak both Spanish and English.

Must have offices in San Antonio TX with handicap access.

Responsibilities:

Provide mental health care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Develop mental health treatment plans to serve as the basis for treatment.

Provide individual and group therapy.

Perform routine mental health assessments and interviews to determine progress.

Update diagnosis and psychiatric needs levels.

Refer patients to psychology for more complex psychological assessment.

Provide information to psychiatry to include client history previous diagnoses and alternative treatment available.

Render clinical direction to nonclinical staff in mental health care and treatment of inmates.

Perform care consistent with the scope of licensure and in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Work effectively with fellow medical staff and treatment team members.

Any other duties as assigned.
