ABOUT THE ROLE:
As a Process Engineer Project you will be managing projects that result in a safer work environment a higher quality product a more efficient process and a positive impact on the company s bottom line. You will collaborate with colleagues in other engineering functions as well as production quality purchasing planning and maintenance. You will be responsible for managing the implementation of and supporting new processes new equipment and new assembly systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Project leader for implementation of new processes new equipment and new assembly systems.
- Examines equipment processes operations and procedures to identify improvement opportunities in areas of safety quality throughput and cost.
- Evaluate vendor proposals for new equipment purchases.
- Select & implement suitable manufacturing processes and apply modern organizational principles to make products at a competitive cost.
- Identify & optimize current and new manufacturing processes using continuous improvement.
- Work closely with production and maintenance to ensure equipment is operating in a likenew condition.
- Specify tools jigs and fixtures.
- Project coordination and daily troubleshooting.
- Process Development may include Visual Work Instructions.
- Production support and process troubleshooting.
- Cost (s rework cycle time etc.) reduction.
Requirements
Knowledge/Experience:
- 2 years or more of experience managing the implementation of capital projects involving new equipment and/or equipment systems.
- 2 or more years engineering project experience in a metal manufacturing environment is preferred.
- CAD experience required i.e.: AutoCAD Pro E Solid Works Creo & AutoCAD a strong plus.
- Knowledge of equipment and systems appropriate to related discipline.
- Knowledge of engineering principles and procedures.
- Experience in Lean manufacturing techniques capability studies process mapping FMEA and root cause analysis.
- Must be computer literate and familiar with Microsoft Office.

Education:
- Bachelor in Science in Material Science Mechanical Welding Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering or equivalent combined related experience required.
Physical Requirements:
- Position involves sitting for long periods standing manual dexterity stooping bending and minimal lifting.
Qualifications: 2 years of experience with PVD or semiconductor vacuum equipment with AS degree is required, bachelor s degree in engineering is preferred. Candidates without an Associate s or Bachelor s degree may be considered with equivalent experience in the same field. Multi chamber cluster systems and robotics experience is highly preferred. Ability to understand electrical and mechanical drawings for troubleshooting. Experience with PLC and other software applications are a plus. Ability to work independently following 3-6 months of on-the-job training. Must have analytical skills for problem analysis and resolution. Decide on a problem-solving road map and follow methodical means to resolution. Decide and recommend spare and consumable parts for PM s and repairs. Bilingual Communication skills helpful but not required. (Japanese/English) Additional Information: Job may require domestic travel up to 25% and international travel for training. May require considerable travel throughout sales territory (valid driver's license and acceptable driving record necessary). Position may require ability to work flexible shifts. Requires ability to lift approx. 50 lbs. Substantial amount of standing, walking, typing, grasping, talking, and hearing. Occasionally kneeling, crouching, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, and climbing stairs or ladder. The worker is required to have close visual acuity with or without corrective lenses for extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes. Working primarily in a cleanroom environment (wearing full clean room suit, facemask, gloves, safety glasses) The work environment may include a variety of physical conditions such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to chemicals, ultraviolet light, and lasers, working in enclosed spaces, close quarters, narrow aisles, or passageways. The work environment may include working in highly time sensitive situations requiring quick resolution including equipment problems.
