Position Summary:
Our esteemed client is a leading mechanical Construction firm based in Qatar specializing in Oil and Gas Petrochemicals and Utilities Industries solutions for the Oil & Gas Sectors. As a Workshop Manager you will be responsible for overseeing the daily activities of our workshop to ensure efficiency productivity and quality output. Your role is critical in maintaining a wellorganized and smoothly functioning workshop environment. Youll be responsible for managing a team optimizing workflows and ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review the overhaul repair and test of products in accordance with approved repair procedures and determine the required process and lead time to complete in accordance with the works order.
- Ensure that the customer is promptly informed and updated on all findings during repair or overhaul.
- Ensure that all work is agreed and authorized by the customer prior to any work
- Manage workloads and prioritize resources to ensure that all work is completed on time.
- Ensure that all work is completed to company standards and clients expectations.
- Ensure all technical/inspection reports are completed/filed in accordance with approved company standards.
- Coordinates the supply and flow of all workshop consumables materials replacement parts and components.
- Ability to communicate ideas verbally and in writing effectively so others will understand including interpreting and understanding blueprints and schematics.
Requirements
Key Qualifications and Skills:
- Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 10 to 15 years of experience in Oil & Gas
- Having handson experience and knowledge about all types of valves and actuators
- Having experience in Oil & Gas companies in GCC
Organize and manage production according to demand ensuring all schedules support project requirements Be responsible for on-time shipping, stock control in the warehouse, and installing teams requirements Assist the PM and GM in general areas of the present workload in order to ensure the smooth running of the business Work with the Engineering team daily to continually improve quality, safety cost, and production as well as obtain feedback/updates on individual project statuses High-level decision-making responsibility such as failure to make accurate decisions may result in late production and delays in project schedules. Excellent fabrication & welding skills required Working knowledge of MS Office and CAD software products. Experience working with & reading 2D plans
Education
Mechanical Engineering Minimum 10 to 15 years of experience in Oil & Gas Having hands-on experience and knowledge about all activities in a fabrication shop (Piping, welding, Painting, etc.) Having experience in Oil & Gas companies in GCC
