General Description of Role and Responsibilities:
- Prepare the Commercial Recommendation form as provided by the Client.
- Reviewing construction drawings and preparing work measurements as per project bill of quantities (BOQ).
- Review the interim payments submitted by the Main Contractor (verification of actual quantities accomplished at the site calculation of the Engineering quantities as per the IFC drawings crosschecking the unit rates with the approved contract.
- Review the interim payments submitted by the Sub Contractors and Suppliers (verification of actual quantities accomplished at the site calculation of the Engineering quantities as per the IFC drawings crosschecking the unit rates with the approved contract.
- Assess the works completed and not invoiced yet to calculate their accruals.
- Prepare all data associated with progress and crosscheck them against the site inspection requests.
- Provide input for the weekly and monthly reports as deemed necessary.
- Documenting any changes in the design or variation orders evaluating the additional/cancelled work items and updating related costs.
- Evaluation of all Change Orders (quantities and unit rates).
- Maintain a Log for Change Orders including their submission dates status action by impact on the overall forecast etc.
- Participate in Value Engineering workshops.
- Extend his responsibilities to other disciplines such as civil concrete and steel structures as deemed necessary although they form a minor part of the project scope.
- Daily monitoring of contractor progress including materials delivered materials installed materials dredged labor resources employed equipment resources utilized and other statistical management.
- Accumulation of statistical progress and resource data daily.
- Quantity estimates for progress payment purposes.
- Updated final quantity estimates based on actual progress data.
- Provision of progress data for schedule purposes.
- Assistance as required for the development of budgets and costsatcompletion.
- Analysis of costs of delay as required.
- Cost analysis of alternative means and methods as required.
- Familiarize himself with the relevant Quality Environmental Safety and Occupational Health Policies Manuals and Procedures within Hill International and ensure continued compliance with these requirements while employed by Hill.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the line manager/supervisor.
Qualifications Experience Knowledge and Skills:
- Bachelors degree in quantity surveying Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- At least 12 years of experience in a similar role.
- RICS accreditation or equivalent would be considered an advantage.
- Ability to work well under pressure and tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of FIDIC contracts is a must.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and in team environments.
