(Monday Tuesday and Fridays)

Department: Football Development and Sports Participation

Reports to:Young Carers Project Lead

Salary:13.5015.91per hour depending on experience

Safeguarding Statement

Brentford FCCST is committed to equality the safeguarding and welfare of all children and adults at risk. This responsibility is shared by all staff and volunteers at the club safeguarding is everyones responsibility. Staff will be required to undertake regular safeguarding training to enable and reinforce a proactive approach to safeguarding. This role requires the post holder to apply all relevant policies and uphold the clubs commitment to safeguarding vulnerable people to ensure a safe environment for all. This includes the timely reporting of any safeguarding concern to the safeguarding team.

General Trust Accountabilities

  • To ensure compliance with all relevant policies including health and safety and safeguarding policies
  • To ensure compliance with all relevant legal regulatory ethical and social requirements
  • To build and maintain good working relationships both internally and externally maintaining a professional image at all times when representing Brentford FC Community Sports Trust
  • To keep confidential any information gained regarding the Trust and its personnel
  • To maintain a flexible approach to work at all times

Main Purpose of Job

To assist with our Young Carers youth groups during term time and our holiday activities during school holidays. The candidate will need to be flexible and able to work afternoons and evenings

Responsibilities

  • To assist the Young Carers Project Manager and Young Carers Project Lead during Youth Club sessions.
  • Deliver on afterschool clubs and school holiday trips for young carers in Ealing and Hounslow.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with young carers.
  • Keep up to date registers risk assessments and regularly upload to monitoring systems.
  • To understand and comply with all policies and procedures in line with Trust and contractual responsibilities including the safeguarding of the young people GDPR health and safety and EDI.
  • Work flexible hours including evenings and occasional weekends.
  • Participate in training sessions related to safeguarding and emergency response.
  • Report any safeguarding concerns promptly to the appropriate authorities or designated personnel.
  • Maintain accurate records of incidents concerns and actions taken
  • Participate in and stay up to date with relevant child protection training and workshops.

Essential Criteria

  • Experience of working with young people (paid or voluntary)
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Experience of building positive relationships with young people
  • Excellent communication and organisation skills
  • Ability to work under own initiative as well as part of a team.
  • Availability to work evenings school holidays and occasional weekends
  • To be able work across Ealing and Hounslow
  • Safeguarding and First Aid qualification or willingness to complete

  • An ability to deal calmly and effectively with emotional or challenging situations with participants
  • Behaviour consistent with creating a child focused open environment in which young people feel valued and empowered.
