What We Do
WB Games Boston is seeking a VFX Artist to help develop our upcoming mobile title. Responsibilities include developing runtime particle effects animated sprite effects UI effects and rendered effects for still images. Working with technical artists and animators the ideal VFX Artist will deliver assets that amp up gameplay and enhance the player experience on a mobile platform.
Project
You ll be partnering with creative developers to help create a style and visual language for the next generation of mobile gaming user interfaces.
Job Responsibilities / Typical Day in the Role
Generate and implement realtime 3D and UI VFX in Unity that are optimized for mobile
Address visual bugs and improve existing assets
Work collaboratively with related art disciplines to create a cohesive player experience
Develop clever solutions to create the most efficient assets possible
Technology Requirements:
Experience working with Unity and a deep understanding of its VFX systems
Ability to create original textures and sprite atlases
Proficient with Maya or similar 3D package
Proficient with Photoshop or other texture generating software
Understanding of shaders creation of shaders a plus
Experience with Adobe Premiere/After Effects a plus
Realtime VFX experience
Must Have Skills / Requirements
1) A portfolio that demonstrates VFX skills in Unity or similar platforms.
2) Experience working with Unity and a deep understanding of its VFX systems.
3) Mobile Game Experience.
Nice to Have Skills / Preferred Requirements
1) Experience working on Mobile Gacha Games
Soft Skills
1) Knowledge of other art disciplines and production pipelines.
