We are seeking an experienced and motivated Legal Counsel to join a dynamic scale-up that has developed a groundbreaking ecosystem. In this pivotal role, you will provide critical legal guidance to align with the organization’s business objectives while ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. Your contributions will be essential in managing legal risks, drafting and reviewing contracts, and advising on corporate governance and compliance matters.
Key Responsibilities:
As Legal Counsel, you will deliver legal advice to internal stakeholders on a variety of issues, including corporate governance, compliance, and contractual matters. Your role will involve drafting, reviewing, and negotiating an array of contracts and agreements to minimize legal exposure and ensure the organization’s interests are protected.
You will also be responsible for monitoring and ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards. This includes providing legal support for mergers, acquisitions, and other significant corporate transactions, as well as conducting thorough legal research and analysis to guide corporate decision-making and strategy.
In addition to these responsibilities, you will develop and implement training programs aimed at educating staff on legal compliance and best practices. Collaboration will be key as you coordinate with external legal counsel and other professionals to address various legal needs. Your expertise will also be valuable in assisting with dispute resolution processes, which may involve negotiations and litigation management.
Staying informed about changes in legislation and regulations that could impact the organization will be a crucial aspect of your role. By proactively identifying potential legal issues and providing strategic solutions, you will help safeguard the organization’s interests while fostering a culture of compliance.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, you should possess a Bachelor of Law (LLB) or an equivalent qualification, and you must be admitted to the bar in an EU jurisdiction. A minimum of five years of experience as legal counsel, preferably in a corporate or in-house environment, is essential. You should have a strong understanding of corporate law, commercial contracts, and compliance issues.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills are required, along with outstanding written and verbal communication abilities. You must be capable of working collaboratively across departments while managing multiple priorities effectively. Proficiency in English is mandatory, and additional language skills in French, Spanish, or Portuguese would be advantageous.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking organization, where your legal expertise will play a crucial role in shaping its future. If you are a proactive, detail-oriented legal professional ready to take on a challenge in a fast-paced environment, we invite you to apply.
