Roles and responsibilities

In this position, you will be responsible for offering comprehensive legal advice to internal stakeholders on a variety of matters, including corporate governance, compliance, and contractual issues. You will draft, review, and negotiate a range of contracts and agreements, ensuring that all documents are designed to mitigate legal risks effectively. Monitoring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards will be a significant part of your role, helping to safeguard the organization against potential legal challenges.

You will also provide legal support for mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions, playing an integral part in shaping the company’s strategic direction. Conducting legal research and analysis will be essential to inform corporate decision-making and strategy, ensuring that our business practices are aligned with legal requirements and industry best practices.

An important aspect of this role will involve developing and delivering training programs to educate staff on legal compliance and best practices. By fostering a culture of awareness and understanding, you will help minimize legal risks across the organization. You will coordinate with external legal counsel and other professionals as needed to ensure comprehensive support and guidance.

Additionally, you will assist with dispute resolution processes, including negotiations and litigation management. Staying updated on changes in legislation and regulations that may impact the organization is vital, enabling you to proactively address potential legal challenges.

Desired candidate profile

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you should hold a Bachelor of Law (LLB) or an equivalent qualification, with admission to the bar in an EU jurisdiction. A minimum of 5 years of experience as legal counsel is required, preferably in a corporate or in-house setting. You should possess a strong understanding of corporate law, commercial contracts, and compliance matters.

Your analytical and problem-solving skills must be excellent, along with outstanding written and verbal communication abilities. The ability to work collaboratively across departments while managing multiple priorities is essential in this fast-paced environment. Proficiency in English is a must, and additional language skills in French, Spanish, or Portuguese are a plus.
