Roles and responsibilities
The Deputy IT Manager for Applications will be responsible for overseeing the organization's business applications portfolio, with a particular focus on ERP systems and enterprise applications. This role combines technical expertise with leadership capabilities to ensure optimal system performance and team management.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership
- Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of business applications, particularly Microsoft Dynamics 365 and HR systems
- Oversee system integrations, upgrades, and enhancement projects
- Ensure system security, reliability, and performance
- Provide technical guidance and problem-solving support to the team
- Develop and maintain technical documentation and standard operating procedures
Team Management
- Lead and mentor a team of application developers and system analysts
- Coordinate work assignments and monitor team performance
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation
- Conduct regular team meetings and performance reviews
- Identify training needs and professional development opportunities
Project Management
- Plan and execute IT projects related to business applications
- Manage project schedules, resources, and budgets
- Monitor project progress and ensure timely delivery
- Identify and mitigate project risks
- Report project status to senior management
Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate with department heads to understand business requirements
- Manage vendor relationships and contracts
- Communicate effectively with users across all organizational levels
- Present technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external partners
Desired candidate profile
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field
Technical Skills
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 implementation and administration
- Strong understanding of HR systems and integrations
- Proficiency in programming languages and development frameworks
- Experience with database management and SQL
- Knowledge of system architecture and integration patterns
- Understanding of IT security best practices
Experience
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in IT applications management
- Proven track record of successful project delivery
- Experience leading and managing technical teams
- Demonstrated expertise in ERP systems, particularly Microsoft Dynamics 365
