Job Description
HIRING: Head Human Resources (Construction)
Location: PortHarcourt Rivers State
Reports To: Managing Director
Compensation: Pay is N12 million to N18 million per annum other benefits.
About Company: Our client is a marketing leading reputable and wellestablished Engineering and Construction business located in the southsouth region of Nigeria.
The Company is in search of a highly experienced Head HR that will deliver on the strategic and operational HR related functions in the organization. The role will lead a team of HR officers to deliver full services to the business including employee relations and project implementation.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced HR Manager who has construction manufacturing or engineering industry exposure with highly commercial handson capabilities. Ideally a candidate with experience managing a diverse workforce comprised of blue and white collar/technical staff as well as expatriates with a variety of shift patterns and legal experience would be preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and lead the Human Resource function of the business with the strategies and policies of the business and the group.
- Define and implement the Strategy and policies within established budgets and in compliance with all local relevant regulations laws and employment standards.
- Work with business leaders to ensure employee relations are optimized and facilitate effective and efficient business operations.
- Ensure that line managers are up to date with policies and given guidance on any changes in policy
- Work with managers to manage effectively employees in accordance with procedures ensuring any absence disciplinaries grievances and sickness are dealt with in a professional and timely manner.
- Regular reporting on KPIs on employee performance engagement and welfare
- As part of the Senior Management Team work with the MD and department heads in setting and achieving business objectives and providing guidance on how actions will impact employee engagement performance and welfare.
- Work alongside the senior management team to deliver our commitments depicted in the Company s our CSR /Environmental and Social Policy
Requirements
Master degree or MBA is required
CIPMN/CIPD/SHRM qualified
10 years experience of managing employee relations at a senior level in a similar environment such as engineering construction manufacturing etc
Exceptional knowledge of the Nigerian Labour Law
Extensive proven experience of managing HR teams and their ongoing development
Solid experience of operating at a senior level and working as part of a senior leadership team in a midlarge business
Flexible approach to work and with team able to travel within the role (not extensively but as required)
