Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
(Computer Science or Information Technology)
OR Degree in Science (Computer Science or Information Technology)
8 years minimum experience with Bachelors degree in Engineering
10 years minimum experience if Degree in Science (Computer Science or Information Technology)
Operating Systems Knowledge: Proficiency in various operating systems, such as Windows, Linux, and Unix.
Network Administration: Understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPNs, as well as experience with routers and switches.
Server Management: Skills in setting up, configuring, and maintaining servers, including web servers, database servers, and application servers.
Security Practices: Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and best practices for securing networks and systems.
Backup and Recovery: Experience with data backup solutions and disaster recovery planning to ensure data integrity and availability.
Virtualization: Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) for creating and managing virtual machines.
Scripting and Automation: Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) to automate tasks and improve system management efficiency.
Monitoring and Performance Tuning: Skills in using monitoring tools to track system performance and troubleshoot issues proactively.
Technical Support: Ability to provide technical support to users, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and resolve system problems.
Documentation: Strong documentation skills for creating and maintaining system configuration records, procedures, and user manuals.
Interpersonal Skills: Good communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with IT teams and supporting end-users.
Project Management: Basic project management skills for overseeing IT projects, upgrades, and system migrations.
