We are seeking an experienced provider with a background in pain management to care for our orthopaedic patients. The successful candidate should have at minimum 3 years of experience in this specialty.
Job Responsibilities
Orthopedic Assessment and Diagnosis
- Perform detailed orthopedic assessments including musculoskeletal examinations range of motion testing and neurovascular assessments.
- Order and interpret diagnostic imaging studies such as Xrays MRIs and CT scans to assist in diagnosis.
- Formulate differential diagnoses and develop individualized treatment plans for orthopedic conditions and injuries.
Treatment and Management
- Provide nonsurgical orthopedic care for patients with acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions including fractures sprains strains osteoarthritis and sports injuries
- Administer injections for pain management and joint inflammation.
- Assist with preoperative and postoperative care for orthopedic surgery patients including surgical site management wound care and rehabilitation protocols.
Orthopedic Procedures
- Perform minor orthopedic procedures and interventions such as joint aspirations and injections wound debridement and casting/splinting.
- Perform minor orthopedic procedures and interventions related to spinal injuries
Patient Education and Counseling
- Educate patients and their families about their orthopedic conditions treatment options and postoperative care instructions.
- Provide guidance on injury prevention rehabilitation exercises and lifestyle modifications to optimize orthopedic health and recovery.
Collaboration and Communication
- Collaborate closely with orthopedic surgeons physical therapists radiologists and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and treatment plans.
- Communicate effectively with patients families and caregivers to address questions concerns and treatment goals.
- Documentation and RecordKeeping:
- Maintain accurate and thorough medical records including orthopedic assessments progress notes treatment plans and surgical reports.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements professional standards and institutional policies related to documentation and recordkeeping.
Education and Experience
- Masters degree in Nursing (MSN) or Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) from an accredited program.
- Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state of practice.
- Certification as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) with specialization in orthopedics (e.g. Orthopedic Nurse Practitioner Certification) or certification as a Physician Assistant (PA) with orthopedic experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in orthopedics preferably in a surgical or hospital setting.
- Proficiency in orthopedic assessment diagnosis and treatment modalities.
- Strong interpersonal communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fastpaced environment and adapt to changing priorities and patient needs
