Essential Functions:
Assess patients ability to safely and effectively perform occupational tasks and develop individualized treatment plans.
Implement therapy treatment plans using appropriate modalities adjusting as necessary to reflect the patients evolving needs.
Document patient progress both subjectively and objectively and make modifications to treatment plans based on patient response.
Educate patients and their families on deficits adaptive equipment and therapy exercises.
Assist with discharge planning by recommending adaptive equipment and support programs.
Supervise and delegate tasks to certified occupational therapy assistants (COTAs) and therapy technicians as per state regulations and practice standards.
Follow Infection Control and Safety guidelines to ensure a safe treatment environment.
Fabricate and fit splints braces and other adaptive devices as required by the therapy program.
Plan assist and implement patient activities assessments that reflect individual patient needs.
Job Requirements:
Education:
Bachelors degree in Occupational Therapy required
Masters or Doctoral degree preferred
Skills:
Strong critical thinking skills decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fastpaced environment.
Proficiency in navigating multiple complex software systems.
Ability to communicate effectively in English (reading writing speaking understanding).
Completion of Skills Competency Checklist within 90 days of hire.
Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA BLS can be obtained within 60 days of hire).
Licenses:
State of Kentucky Occupational Therapist License required.
Experience:
12 years of clinical experience required.
Experience in directing activities programs (certified TR OT/COTA) with at least 2 years in the last 5 years preferred.
