Job Description

1. JOB DETAILS:

Position Title: Planner: Grade II

Broad Band: M07: Semi professional

Talent Pipeline Layer: Manage Self Operational (MS)

2. OVERALL JOB PURPOSE:

The purpose of the role is to provide a continuous input and support into maintenance shutdown and project planning activities at various sections and to apply the planning processes at an operational level.

3. QUALIFICATIONS EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

Qualification:

1. High school certificate

2. Maths and Science preferred

3. Trade test 1 Year as Planner (subject to personal performance)

Experience:

2 Years practical experience in planning/scheduling softwares

Skills:

  • Acute safety awareness and attitude
  • Extensive experience of shutdowns
  • Sound knowledge of statutory process compliance requirements and understanding of the relevant regulatory and compliance issues specific to the Affiliate
  • Managing projects
  • Familiar with materials services financial and other planning related work methods

  • Evaluate and verify correctness of notification information and take action on deviations (gate keeping function)

  • Assist to ensure leak seal process compliance
  • Planning and control of plant equipment ensuring process compliance
  • Assist maintenance to compile shutdown scope list (contingency/opportunity and statutory work)
  • Contribute in shutdown program validation
  • Open work order control as per agreed targets to support committed cost flow
  • Have an influence to reduce maintenance cost optimise and reduce equipment time
  • Optimisation of resources required to execute work
  • Confirm material/spares services and resources
  • Adhere to and ensure adherence to Maaden safety standards
  • Plan organise and control work and projects meeting technical objectives
  • Assist with compiling and updating of task lists for strategies and repetitive maintenance work
  • Assist with compiling Bar/Gantt chart programs for complex jobs
  • Assist to ensure a reliable and achievable work packed for execution week
  • Be acquainted with operational methods and details related to daytoday maintenance
  • Categorise work according to criticality/priority
  • Assist with scope kickoff meetings for complex jobs general overhaul (GO) and turnaround (TA)
  • Assist to draw up network diagram create Bar/Gant chart and obtain approval for program execution
  • Monitor and coordinate execution of work activities and note deviations from program (daytoday shutdowns GO & TA)
  • Provide information/reports on request to line management
  • Full contribution to statutory compliance and management decisions
  • Assist maintenance to ensure optimal affectivity of maintenance strategies
  • Ensure the statutory process is maintained and adhered to
  • Assist with work order control within set targets and according to prescribed standards
  • Have an understanding of production (plant) operations equipment and process
  • Have full understanding and effectively apply all planning and related processes and procedures
  • Assist with documentation preparation
  • Initiate the maintenance strategy review process
  • Establish and maintain professional standards for service provision and contribution
  • Manage change in scope of work during execution
  • Attend and give input in meetings related to ones role within Planning

  • Assist leader to manage planning offices to enable a continuous service delivery to partners
