13 weeks Days 8/10hour shift 40 hours guaranteed weekly
The Estimated Weekly Total is based on working the listed hours per week and includes available stipend amounts. Please contact a recruiter for full details. Performs MRI procedures and related techniques to produce diagnostic images for physician interpretation. May be required to work flexible hours alternate shifts and weekends and call as necessary to provide quality patient care at assigned site(s). May be required to flex hours/shifts as needed to support the needs of the department. Works as part of a multidisciplinary team serving on committees and participating in projects as requested.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform diagnostic MRI procedures and techniques as required by MRI Tech 2
- Is responsible for daily operational tasks such as Patient flow delegation of duties and assignment of tasks.
- Reports and documents MRI safety incidents/ adverse events per protocol.
- Maintains smooth and efficient workflow in the MRI Department; is an active participant in scanning patients daily.
- Responds to technical questions concerns and problems from MRI and other Mercy staff including physicians.
- Troubleshoots equipment problems and coordinates with the Manager and BioMed to ensure unplanned downtime is managed
- Assists with medical record/image sharing as necessary.
- In collaboration with the Manager/Supervisor ensures compliance with regulatory bodies; completes and submits required QA metrics. Helps to identify areas where improvement may be necessary.
- Assists Department Manager/Supervisor with training for new installations and upgrades to equipment and software for MRI as appropriate for site and licenses held.
- Interviews hires and oversees orientation of new partners.
- Maintains training competency and orientation documents along with the Supervisor
- Assists leadership with regular staff meetings.
- Maintains and renews accreditation for ACR and the state.
- Implements and monitors MRI safety measures to ensure the safety of patients and staff and compliance with government regulatory requirements.
- Evaluate the accuracy and quality of scans and provide technical assistance to staff whenever necessary.
- Assists Manager/Supervisor in monitoring quality assurance program to conform to federal state local and facility regulations and guidelines.
- Consult on work in progress to ensure accuracy and complete work.
- Performs and trains specialized and more difficult procedures.
- Reviews current literature and attends meetings and seminars to keep informed of new developments in the field.
- Expertlevel knowledge of electronic medical records and PACS and imaging equipment
- Maintains policies and procedures for the MRI dept with input from the Director Manager and Radiologists.
- Ensures proper staff scheduling to meet the needs of the department.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATION
Experience:
- Previous experience preferred
Education:
- Graduate from an accredited radiography program or accredited MRI training program.
Licenses Certifications and/or Registration:
- ARRT Radiography registration required
- ARRT MRI or ARMRIT registration required
- Approved CPR or BLS certification is required.
EMR System: EPIC experience preferred
Shift: Days 40 hours a week
