Senior Design Engineer

Roles and responsibilities

• Checks and ensures that the applicable Egyptian and international instrumentation and control regulations, codes and standards are observed in the Technical documentation elaborated by the Contractors
• Contributes to drafting instrumentation and control policies and procedures
• Develops and reviews control and monitoring systems and telecommunications with basic and/or complex scientific equipment
• Reviews and advises on the metrology of measurement instruments
• Reviews and comments on conceptual, technical, and detailed design documentation
• Conducts inspection activities of instrumentation and control equipment and materials
• Supervises installation, testing and commissioning activities of instrumentation and control systems and equipment and prepares associated reports
• Liaises with other engineering disciplines on matters of instrumentation and control and telecommunications
• Develops training materials and conducts training on instrumentation and control systems and equipment

• Design and Development

• Lead Design Projects: Take charge of the design and development of products or systems, ensuring they meet functional, aesthetic, and regulatory requirements.
• Technical Analysis: Perform detailed analyses and simulations to validate design concepts and optimize performance.
• Prototype Development: Oversee the creation and testing of prototypes, making adjustments based on performance data and feedback.

• Project Management

• Project Planning: Develop project timelines, budgets, and resource allocations to ensure timely completion of design tasks.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams (engineering, manufacturing, marketing) to ensure cohesive project execution.
• Stakeholder Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status and addressing concerns.

Desired candidate profile

Bachelor’s degree in I&C, Electrical, Computer or Systems Engineering or equivalent
Strong technical skills; 7+ years of experience in I&C engineering on large scale projects or in nuclear power plant development. Nuclear experience is required.

Field Interaction
Site Visits: Conduct site visits as necessary to gather information, assess conditions, and ensure designs are implemented correctly.
Client Interaction: Engage with clients to understand their needs, gather feedback, and incorporate it into design iterations.
