Job Description

Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)


Job Summary

Assist in patient care under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist following state practice laws and prescribed treatment programs.


Key Responsibilities

  • Follow state regulations governing PTA practice and adhere to clinical policies.
  • Assist in executing treatment plans directed by the Physical Therapist.
  • Maintain clear documentation of patient care using medical terminology accurately.
  • Ensure treatment areas and equipment meet OSHA standards.
  • Communicate patient progress effectively with the care team.
  • Complete Medicare and OSHA compliance training annually.
  • Participate in staff meetings and continuing education to meet licensure requirements.
  • Maintain current CPR certification.


Skills & Physical Requirements

  • Teamwork time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform physical tasks throughout shifts.
  • Clear communication and comprehension skills for working with patients and staff.
  • Fine motor skills for managing equipment and patient scheduling.


Qualifications

  • Graduate of a CAPTEaccredited PTA program or equivalent.
  • Current state license registration or certification as a PTA.
