Job Description

Drama Teacher Sought for Thriving Secondary School in Brighton

We are delighted to partner with a progressive secondary school in Brighton renowned for its creative arts programs in their search for a passionate and innovative Drama Teacher. This fulltime permanent position commences in September and presents an exceptional opportunity to inspire young minds and nurture a lifelong love of theatre and performance.

The Position

As a Drama Teacher you will play a pivotal role in shaping the schools vibrant drama curriculum fostering creativity confidence and collaboration among students. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and challenging lessons that inspire students to explore the power of storytelling character development and theatrical expression.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver innovative lesson plans that align with the national curriculum and ignite students passion for drama.
  • Direct and produce school productions showcasing students talents and creativity.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages risktaking selfexpression and collaboration.
  • Assess student progress through a variety of formative and summative assessments providing constructive feedback to support their artistic development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues within the arts department and across the wider school community to enrich the overall drama program.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Drama Theatre or a related field.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching certification.
  • Demonstrated experience teaching Drama at the secondary level.
  • A strong understanding of theatrical techniques performance practices and stagecraft.
  • Excellent communication interpersonal and organizational skills.
