About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to play a leading role in inspiring a love of food and cooking within a dedicated team. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and stimulating Food Technology lessons across the curriculum equipping students with essential culinary skills and promoting healthy eating habits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan deliver and evaluate engaging Food Technology lessons for Key Stage 3 (Years 78) and potentially Key Stage 4 (Years 911) in line with the National Curriculum.
- Foster a creative and practical learning environment in the kitchen encouraging students to explore diverse culinary techniques and cuisines.
- Develop and implement innovative curriculum initiatives that align with the schools vision and the latest advancements in food education.
- Ensure a safe and hygienic kitchen environment adhering to all health and safety regulations.
- Build positive and supportive relationships with students promoting teamwork and fostering a love of learning in the kitchen.
- Play an active role in the department including contributing to curriculum development assessment strategies and departmental meetings.
- Participate in wholeschool events and initiatives fostering a collaborative spirit and contributing to the wider school community.
The Ideal Candidate:
- A qualified Food Technology Teacher with a demonstrable track record of success in engaging students and developing their culinary skills.
- Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for food cooking and promoting healthy eating habits.
- Strong pedagogical skills with the ability to deliver innovative and effective lessons that cater to diverse learning styles.
- A commitment to high standards and the ability to create a positive stimulating and safe learning environment in the kitchen.
- Excellent communication interpersonal and collaboration skills.
