Job Description

Running the daily activities of the Boiler & Kiln operations at multiple Sawmill sites including technical & maintenance

oversight.

Ensure compliance of all plant machinery and auxiliary equipment to relevant statutory health safety and environmental legislation and regulations. As well as Company policies & procedures.

Control of spare part inventories and critical spares.

Monitor and control costs.

Manage training and development of departmental employees.

Ensuring and improving the performance productivity & efficiency.

Managing all staff in accordance with labour laws and company policies

Ensuring a highlevel housekeeping standard in the department

Requirements

Matric / NTC 3.

Relevant technical experience and ability with tools and mechanical workings if not trade tested.

Strong experience in the operations of Boilers:

General operations
Technical experience
Maintenance
Regulations

Experience in timber Kiln Drying would be advantageous:

Kiln drying operations
Schedules
Quality Control

A minimum of 5 years experience in a boiler operations environment.

Experience in a saw milling environment will be preferred.

Medically fit with sober habits.

Proficient in MS Office skills in Excel & MS Outlook.

Code EB license with own transport.

Willing to work irregular hours and perform standby duties.

Willing to work overtime incl. weekends.

Must be able to communicate in English (speak read & write).

Ability to communicate in Xhosa will be an added advantage.

Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment Proficient in Microsoft Office and inventory management software Strong leadership and team management skills Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures Ability to work flexible hours as needed

Education

Qualifications: - Matric - National Certificate - Relevant technical experience and ability with tools and mechanical workings, if not trade tested - Boiler experience 5+ years - EB Drivers License
