About the Opportunity:
We are seeking Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) for a 90day contract assignment with a staterun correctional managed care provider in West TX. These fulltime positions are available for both day and night shifts with a rotating 4/3 schedule. There is also potential for contract extension or conversion to permanent employment. LVNs will play a key role in delivering comprehensive healthcare to inmates offering opportunities to work across different healthcare services such as clinic inpatient care med pass wound care and emergency response.
Position Requirements:
- Graduation from a Licensed Vocational Nurse Program
- Active LVN license in the state of Texas
- 1 years of experience in any of the following:
- LongTerm Acute Care (LTAC)
- Geriatric/LTC
- MedicalSurgical (Med/Surg)
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) certification
- Ability to provide a copy of ID AHA BLS and current TB test and complete the formal application packet.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Vaccination records for Covid19 Varicella MMR TDap TB HepB and Flu
- Current physical for health clearance

What You Need to Know:
- LVNs will work fulltime on either day or night shifts (7 AM 7 PM or 7 PM 7 AM)
- Clearance documents will be required during the review stage
- Diverse nursing tasks are involved including providing clinic care wound care administering medication assisting in ER and critical care settings and providing diagnostic and preventive treatments specific to the correctional environment
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing services treatments and diagnostic procedures for inmate care and safety
- Administer prescribed medications and manage wound care
- Assist physicians with sick calls and respond to emergencies
- Monitor and record vital signs observe and report on inmates physical and emotional conditions
- Instruct inmates on discharge planning and general health education
- Maintain accurate medical records and collaborate with supervisors on problem cases
- Guide correctional staff on inmate healthcare needs and safety
- Order and manage medical supplies
