Job Description
Our esteemed school in Hounslow seeks a talented and experienced Head of Design Technology to join our dynamic faculty. This is a fulltime permanent position offering the opportunity to inspire and nurture young minds in a supportive and academically rigorous environment.
About the Role:
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for the Design Technology department aligning with the schools overall vision and educational goals.
- Oversee the quality of teaching learning and assessment within the department.
- Develop and implement a stimulating and challenging Design Technology curriculum that incorporates the latest advancements in design education.
- Lead the recruitment development and performance management of Design Technology teaching staff.
- Manage the departments budget effectively to ensure adequate resources for delivering highquality teaching and learning.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages creativity innovation and practical skills development.
- Represent the department at school leadership meetings and contribute to wider school initiatives.
The Ideal Candidate:
- A highly qualified and experienced Design Technology teacher with a proven track record of leadership success.
- A deep understanding of the National Curriculum for Design Technology and a passion for innovative teaching methods.
- Excellent communication interpersonal and collaboration skills.
- The ability to motivate and inspire students fostering a love of design and problemsolving.
- Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to lead and develop a team effectively.
