Job Description
Our esteemed school seeks a talented and experienced Key Stage Coordinator for Geography to join our dynamic faculty. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of Geography education within a supportive and academically rigorous environment.
About the Role:
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for the Geography department ensuring it aligns with the schools overall vision and educational goals.
- Oversee the quality of teaching learning and assessment in Geography across Key Stage 3 and potentially Key Stage 4.
- Identify and implement innovative teaching and learning strategies to enhance student engagement and geographical understanding.
- Foster a collaborative and supportive environment within the Geography department promoting the sharing of best practices and professional development.
- Teach a full timetable of engaging and stimulating Geography lessons demonstrating strong subject knowledge and pedagogical skills.
- Utilize a variety of teaching methods to cater to diverse learning styles and ensure all students reach their full potential.
- Employ effective assessment strategies to monitor student progress and inform future teaching.
- Maintain strong links with external geographical societies and organizations to enrich the curriculum and provide students with wider learning opportunities.
- Develop and manage the departments resources budget effectively.
The Ideal Candidate:
- A qualified Geography teacher with a minimum of 5 years successful teaching experience including significant leadership experience.
- A proven track record of raising standards in Geography and a demonstrable passion for the subject.
- Excellent subject knowledge and a commitment to staying abreast of current trends and developments in Geography education.
- Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate and inspire colleagues.
- Excellent communication interpersonal and collaboration skills.
- A commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
