We are hiring an Occupational Therapist (OT) for one of our clients in Federal Way WA.
Job Description:
Occupational therapists in the educational setting provide specially designed instruction and related services. The occupational therapist collaborates with families and educational team members to develop appropriate education programs and advises on healthrelated concerns as they impact education for students with special needs. The program goal is to help students to function as independently as possible within the least restrictive environment. This position requires working with children of various ages and a variety of disabilities (preschool to 12th grade). Position requires being an itinerant and traveling to different school sites within the district.

- Evaluates student occupational profile the classroom/school environment and sensory and motor performance deficits that interfere with student development learning and access to education.
- The occupational therapist utilizes a variety of standardized functional and behavioral assessments; skilled clinical observations; histories; and interviews.
- Synthesizes evaluation results into a comprehensive written report which reflects strengths and barriers to student participation in the educational environment and identifies need for occupational therapy services Participates in multidisciplinary meetings to review evaluation results integrate findings with other disciplines and develop recommendations Develops and implements occupational therapy intervention plans that include a variety of service delivery models: direct service collaboration or shared goals/objectives with classroom staff and consultation/problems solving.
- Coordinates services with the IEP team including parent Adapts and modifies the environment including assistive technology and training Supervises certified occupational therapy assistant in the implementation of occupational therapy services Inservice to classroom teachers and paraprofessionals to embed intervention techniques in the classroom and support generalization of student skills.

- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with students parents and staff members
- Travel between multiple buildings within the district
- Transfer students or equipment weighing up to thirty pounds
- Perform job responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodations
Skills required:
- Knowledge/awareness of own cultural identity and how this influences behavior and desire to learn about the cultural identity of others.
- Ability to establish and nurture an environment that promotes cultural competence and equitable treatment of staff students and patrons of the District.

Education and Experience:
- Possess degree in Occupational Therapy
- Possess National Certification (NBCOT)
- Possess current Washington State Occupational Therapy license
Preferred qualifications:
- Possess or able to acquire within first year of employment Educational Staff Associate (ESA) certification.
Knowledge of:
- School board policies and procedures

- Shift: First Shift
- 8:00 AM 4:00 PM
- Meals: 30 minutes

- Beginning and ending times depend on student needs.
- Short term need up to 37.5 hours a week
