The Asia Berlin Forum e.V. (ABF) is on the lookout for a new Managing Director to help drive one of the most exciting initiatives bridging innovation business and culture between Berlin and the AsiaPacific region.
As a nonprofit platform supported by the Berlin Senate ABF is responsible for organizing the AsiaBerlin Summit (ABS) Europes only Asiafacing startup conference. This flagship event brings together global startups investors and ecosystem builders offering unparalleled opportunities for connection collaboration and market entry.
Tasks
- Build strategy for future business plans and visions to ensure ABF and the ABS remains a leading voice in the AsiaEurope startup ecosystem
- Create meaningful company culture for the team and the community
- Own and communicate the AsiaBerlin Story as the organizations chief messaging officer
- Lead a diverse and passionate crosscultural team
- Manage and oversee ABFs finances events and communitybuilding efforts
- Organize and innovate the annual AsiaBerlin Summit
- Foster and expand relationships with key stakeholders sponsors and partners
- Drive the growth of our membership base and engage with the AsiaBerlin community
- Draft AsiaBerlin strategy with the Berlin Senate and report to the ABF board
- A physical presence in Asia at least once a year would be beneficial
Requirements
- Strong passion for organizing international events.
- Entrepreneurial background (strategy development business model development drive for innovation organization design)
- Fluency in German (native) and English (C1/C2); knowledge of Asian languages is a plus
- Experience in nonprofit management financial oversight and grant applications
- Strong understanding of international relations especially between Asia and Europe
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a knack for building longlasting partnerships
- Strong in storytelling and messagingLeadership and teambuilding skills
