Job Title: Network Engineer

We are currently seeking candidates who meet the following qualifications
Qualifications: - Associate degree in an Information Technology (IT) related field (as determined by the AOC).
- Active certifications:
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) in Enterprise or Security.
Preferred Qualifications: - Ten (10) years of CONUS technical experience in IT networking.
- Bachelors degree in an Information Technology (IT) related field (as determined by the AOC).
- Recent certifications (issued within the last four (4) years):
- Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) in Enterprise Infrastructure or Security.
- Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE).
- Prisma Certified Cloud Security Engineer (PCCSE) from Palo Alto Networks.
Scope of Work: - Designing developing analyzing troubleshooting and documenting computer networks and infrastructure.
- Performance monitoring troubleshooting and documentation of a statewide network utilizing industry best practices for security disaster recovery business continuity change control and client support.
- Developing and analyzing network designs and protocols including prototyping and assessment.
- Planning engineering forecasting and implementing network systems while identifying resource requirements.
- Leading and assisting in major network projects to support capacity growth upgrades and new products/features.
- Evaluating current network systems and recommending changes in maintenance and systems standards while training support personnel on conversion implementation and troubleshooting.
- Applying indepth uptodate knowledge of standards guidelines and industry trends for LAN WAN Wireless Data Center Cloud networking and interconnection.
- Driving improvements in network processes efficiency and standardization.
- Ensuring security compliance change control processes and adherence to standards.
- Providing uppertier diagnosis isolation and resolution of network problems identifying and documenting root causes and proactively identifying potential issues.
- Developing comprehensive graphical and textbased documentation and effectively managing the implementation process from design to acceptance.
- Hosting weekly status meetings/calls with the team or as needed.
- Leading scheduling and overseeing activities with other team members to resolve enduser hardware and software problems in a timely manner.
- Assisting in the creation of robust network designs acting as the escalation point of contact and lead engineer for implementations providing ongoing support and maintenance.
- Overseeing the configuration maintenance and documentation of routers switches wireless controllers load balancers security appliances WAN optimizers and management and security appliances.
- Reporting as follows:
- Weekly reports communicating project progress and status.
- Weekly time reporting on JIS provided forms.
- Any additional reports as assigned by the supervising manager.
Required Skills Experience & Capabilities: - Experience with:
- Layer 2 & 3 optimization and boundary virtual switching systems.
- Scalable routing protocols (BGP EIGRP OSPF).
- Enterprise Data Center and Cloud Networking for Virtualization SDN Load Balancing and storage.
- Zero Trust Network Access and microsegmentation.
- High Availability in Enterprise environments.
- Advanced WAN service layers SDWANs and WAN Optimization applications.
- Current Network Security Services applications services and appliances including:
- Identity Management
- Network Access Control
- Application Layer Inspection
- Content and Malware Filtering
- Data Loss and Intrusion Prevention
- Zeroday threats
- IPsec and SSL VPN
- PKI
- TwoFactor Authentication
- Enterprise VoIP and physical security environments including access control and video surveillance network applications.
- QualityofService design and implementation.
- Network Management Protocols Applications and Operating System capabilities.
- Installation and configuration of Cisco Catalyst Nexus and Palo Alto platforms.
- Installation configuration securing and troubleshooting enterprise wireless access systems.
- Ability to:
- Work independently troubleshoot and mentor junior associates.
- Communicate effectively when providing presentations.
- Produce technical documents (diagrams design documents project plans and schedules and user instructions) as required.
- Knowledge of:
- Infrastructure Services and IPAM products.
- IP multicast Enterprise Video conferencing streaming and ondemand components.
- Coding languages for scripting.
- Major server desktop operating systems and utilities.
