Civil Designer

Roles and responsibilities

Create detailed 3D models for wet utility systems including water mains, sewer lines, stormwater systems, and related infrastructure.
Develop and maintain accurate Civil 3D models and drawings in alignment with project specifications and standards
Work closely with civil engineers, project managers, and other team members to ensure design integration and compliance with project requirements.
Conduct quality checks and revisions as needed to maintain high standards of accuracy and reliability.
Develop Civil3D Templates, subassemblies, pipe parts and smart blocks
Develop alignments, profiles, and corridors and be familiar with creating and consuming Data shortcut
1. Design and Modeling:

Create and manage 3D models for civil engineering projects using Autodesk Civil 3D.
Develop detailed designs for roadways, grading, drainage, and other civil infrastructure elements.
2. Data Management:

Import and manage survey data, alignments, profiles, and surfaces to ensure accurate model representation.
Maintain organized project files and ensure that data is up-to-date and easily accessible.
3. Analysis and Optimization:

Conduct surface analysis, cut and fill calculations, and stormwater management modeling.
Optimize designs for efficiency, sustainability, and compliance with engineering standards.
4. Collaboration:

Work closely with engineers, surveyors, and other team members to integrate design elements and ensure project requirements are met.
Participate in project meetings to provide updates and address any technical challenges.
5. Quality Assurance:

Perform quality checks on designs and models to ensure accuracy and adherence to project specifications.
Identify and correct errors or discrepancies in the modeling process.
6. Documentation:

Generate construction drawings, reports, and project documentation from the Civil 3D model.
Prepare visual presentations and design summaries for stakeholder review.
7. Software Proficiency:

Stay updated on the latest Civil 3D features and enhancements to improve modeling efficiency and output quality.
Troubleshoot and resolve any software-related issues to maintain productivity.

Desired candidate profile

Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering or a related field.
Minimum 7 years’ experience in Civil3D, BIM Modelling.
Proven experience as a Civil 3D Modeler or similar role, specifically with wet utilities and infrastructure projects.
Strong proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D software and other relevant modelling tools.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring

Experience with other civil engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and BIM Navis Manger works.
Familiarity with local codes and regulations related to wet utilities and infrastructure.
Training and Support:

Assist in training junior staff or new team members on Civil 3D functionalities and best practices.
Share knowledge and techniques to promote a collaborative working environment.
Field Coordination (if applicable):

Conduct site visits to verify existing conditions and gather additional data as needed for model refinement.
Collaborate with field personnel to ensure alignment between design and construction.
