We are currently looking for a Lead Mechanical Supervisor in the framework of a Data Center construction project.
As a Lead Mechanical Supervisor within a Project Management Consultant (PMC) team you will be responsible for overseeing all mechanicals aspects of a data centre construction project. This involves supervising the mechanical contractor ensuring adherence to mechanical codes and standards safety regulations while maintaining project timelines and budget. The role requires a fulltime presence on site to monitor the contractors progress.
Your main responsibilities will be:
- Quality Control:
- Conduct rigorous quality control inspections of mechanical installations.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications mechanical codes and industry standards.
- Identify and rectify quality issues in a timely manner.
- Maintain detailed quality control documentation in coordination with the QCx team.
- Safety Oversight:
- Enforce safety regulations and procedures on the construction site.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and toolbox talks.
- Address safety hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain a safe working environment for all personnel.
- Project Coordination:
- Collaborate with Package Lead and other disciplines to ensure smooth project execution.
- Coordinate mechanical work with other trades and subcontractors.
- Attend project meetings and provide regular updates on mechanical progress.
- Identify potential issues and develop solutions.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and uptodate project documentation including inspections test reports and asbuilt drawings.
- Prepare regular progress reports and identify any deviations from the project plan.
- Provide necessary documentation for project closeout.
- Report and validate the erected quantities
- Communication and Collaboration:
- Excellent communication presentation and leadership skills with previous team leadership experience.
- Collaborate effectively with internal and external design teams including planning and managing the collaboration process.
- Participate in project meetings and presentations to present BIM progress and clash detection reports.
- Liaise with design teams project managers and clients to ensure project goals are met.
- Ability to prioritise workload work to deadlines and manage effectively under pressure.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a mechanical supervisor in data center construction projects.
- Indepth knowledge of mechanical systems codes and standards.
- Good knowledge of building services : HVAC fire stopping and fire protection lifts generators cooling systems internal architectural etc
- Strong understanding of construction project management principles.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to effectively manage and motivate contractors.
- Strong attention to detail and problemsolving skills.
