Job Description

Northwest Talent Solutions is a leading Technology Finance and Healthcare staffing/recruiting and HR/DEI consulting firm partnering with outstanding clients within the private industry and public sector. Currently we are partnered with a preferred client in Eastern Utah in search of a highly talented Director of Med/Surg ICU to join their awardwinning healthcare facility.

Job Summary:

The Director of Med/Surg ICU will be responsible for the effective operation of Medical Surgical and ICU Services at a Joint Commission accredited 39bed hospital. This leadership role oversees the delivery of highquality costeffective patient care manages nursing personnel and develops and implements approved department projects and goals. The facility has been recognized as one of the Rural Hospitals in America.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provides education direction and mentorship to the nursing team
  • Manages staffing needs by evaluating census acuity skill level and staff availability
  • Ensures compliance with accreditation standards (TJC and CMS)
  • Drives clinical components of utilization review
  • Oversees infection control standards maintenance
  • Manages licensure and competency requirements for all supervised staff
  • Coordinates with team members to ensure positive patient outcomes
  • Addresses staff physician patient and family concerns
  • Participates in continuous process improvement initiatives
  • Attends all required meetings and huddles

Qualifications:

  • Current Utah RN license required at hire
  • Medical/Surgical or ICU nursing experience required
  • Minimum of two years of leadership experience required
  • Current BLS ACLS PALS certifications required
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred

Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities
  • Excellence in interpersonal communication and team collaboration
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fastpaced environment
  • Experience with quality metrics and process improvement
  • Knowledge of Joint Commission and CMS standards
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement department goals
  • Strong problemsolving and decisionmaking skills
